Habitat for Humanity
Bridgestone Americas teammates don’t hesitate when it comes to volunteering. For the past few years, teammates at the company’s headquarters in Nashville have helped build homes around the city for Habitat for Humanity. In 2010, more than 30 co-workers came out on Saturdays and Sundays over four weekends to help build a home for Judy Sims in the Timberwood Subdivision. Over eight days of construction, volunteers helped to frame the home, attach siding and insulation and paint.
This year, Bridgestone Americas partnered with YMCA’s Camp Widjiwagan to bring even more manpower to the build. The home was dedicated in a ceremony April 18.
Teammates in Novi, Mich., near Detroit, and Warren County, Tenn., south of Nashville, also volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, helping deserving local families achieve their dream of owning a home.
